How To Avoid The Three Most Common Budgeting Mistakes People Make When Planning a Web Initiative

How To Avoid The Three Most Common Budgeting Mistakes People Make When Planning a Web Initiative

As we all know, times have changed. Websites have become an absolutely fundamental component to nearly any business. But, while most companies set aside money for website development, they often overlook several key components. As a result, they either far exceed their initial budget or are unhappy with their Website’s result.

Many web firms purposely leave these crucial portions of the budgeting process out, so they can ‘hook you’ in the beginning, and then get more money as the process continues. Obviously, this makes creating a budget all the more difficult.

The good news is that there are some guidelines to help you ensure that your web project is a complete success. The following three components of website development are the most overlooked in early development and budgeting phases. Considering these three aspects of website development will help you ensure your website exceeds your expectations, but not your budget.

1. Extended Photography and Artwork.

When budgeting for web projects, companies usually forget to budget for the purchase of professional photography. Your graphic design department at your company or web firm will provide you with an overall website design called the look-n-feel. Typically, their job doesn’t include designing each page of content.

The look-n-feel templates usually have a content area where the implementation team will incorporate content. You will need to include artwork at the top of the page to provide a nice visual to coincide with the content.

Another example of where you would use photography or artwork is where you have a page of content that talks about a unique process your company uses. Spelling out the process in text format is good. A nice visual to represent that process in conjunction with the text is even better. This visual was likely not part of the design team’s original goals when designing the look-n-feel for your site.

Budgeting for extended artwork and photography:

a) When developing your project’s site map, be sure to look at each top level page as its own homepage for a given section. Your website’s homepage has a strategic layout that incorporates a nice balance between design and copy, and so should each top level page. (Top level pages are the initial pages in your site’s main navigation areas.)

b) Once you designate what pages are top level homepages, define overall goals of that page/section. What do you want your visitors to learn about? What’s the strategy for that section? What overall branding and feeling should be conveyed? Document this information and make sure your web or eMarketing firm knows about this additional design work at the outset if they haven’t already talked to you about it.

c) A resource for cost-effective stock photography that we like to use is iStockPhoto.com. iStockPhoto.com has a wide range of royalty-free photography to choose from at very reasonable prices. The only drawback is that you may use a photo that is in-use by another company; therefore, it?s not unique to your company. This is an option you must weigh. Unique photography will cost quite a bit more, but if you are a larger company the expense may be justified. Smaller companies should definitely consider iStockPhoto.com.

2. Copy / Content

There’s nothing more disheartening then getting to the end of your web project and realizing you don’t have enough copy to fill your website. I have personally seen web projects have everything complete other than copy only to watch companies delay completed projects for months while they try to write their own content. Consequently, the project is not only delayed, but the copy is usually short and weak.

Well written copy is essential for any website, because it grabs the reader’s attention and provides cohesiveness throughout the site. It is also essential for search engine optimization and marketing. If you don’t have a copy writer on staff at your company, make sure your web firm understands the importance of good copy and helps you budget for it.

Budgeting for copy writing:

a) When you create your site map, in addition to designating which pages are top level homepages, designate which pages you already have sufficient copy for and which pages you don’t have sufficient copy for.

b) Meet with a professional copy writer if you don’t have one in-house. At the meeting discuss each area of copy that you have, where it will go and what you are missing. Make sure you give them the copy you already have so they can polish it as part of the final deliverable and ensure that all copy is in the same ‘voice.’ Ideally your web or eMarketing firm will have a copy writer on staff to coordinate this within the project and provide strategy recommendations.

c) This process can happen concurrently with the design and development process. There’s no reason to wait until those phases are complete, so start working with a copywriter as soon as you define the overall site map and strategies. This will help ensure that your project finishes on-schedule, which keeps things within budget.

3. Post-Launch Marketing or eMarketing

If there’s anything that should never be left out of any web initiative budgeting process, it’s post-launch marketing or eMarketing. This by far is the #1 mistake companies make when planning their web initiatives. This is also why companies will put up a website and say, “Our website is just a formality. We’ve never receive any leads from it.”

It’s important to understand the overall budgeting required for eMarketing. You must understand the goals of your website and put marketing plans into action that attract and engage your target audience on a regular basis. Not spending money every month on eMarketing is the same as buying a fancy sports car, never performing required maintenance on it, and then calling it a ‘piece of junk,’ because it doesn’t run anymore.

In order to receive value from your website, you MUST nurture the related eMarketing activities on a regular basis. Remember, the website is a tool that facilitates company objectives. Know your objectives and use your website as a tool accordingly.

Budgeting for eMarketing:

a) Be careful when selecting a web firm to help you design and launch your web initiatives. Web firms that boast very affordable website developments costs are so focused on getting your project business that they don’t worry or care about what happens with your initiatives when the project is complete. Most web firms don’t offer eMarketing services, so be sure you investigate before making a decision.

Ideally, you should pick a firm based on its eMarketing focus, skills and experience and not by the ‘prettiness’ of the web projects they’ve done. Remember, anyone can produce a good-looking design, but only an eMarketing firm with a business and marketing focus can show you how to make your web initiatives pay-off.

b) Determine what your website is supposed to do for your company. Are you trying to make sales directly on the web? Do you want leads for your sales team? Once you know what the website ultimate goal is, you can plan to develop tools that engage visitors and have them take your desired action.

Once you know the goals and have the tools to make it happen, you need to determine how much you can afford to spend on each acquisition. You must know your acceptable acquisition cost before you can decide on which eMarketing tools to use. To figure this out, determine the acceptable acquisition cost your company can afford on each customer.

Let’s say that at your company each customer is worth $10,000, and you can afford to spend $500 to get that customer. You then need to determine the acceptable cost per ‘lead.’ In this scenario let’s say that your company’s close rate is 10 percent that is 10 prospects out of 100 engaged becomes a customer. This means that you can spend approximately $50 per lead.

Now, if your yearly budget for eMarketing is $50,000, you can spread that out over the course of the year and create an eMarketing plan to steadily bring-in leads every single month. In this scenario, we can plan to acquire approximately eight customers per month.

Knowing this information will help determine which eMarketing tools and channels to use. We can quickly determine if a particular channel has or doesn’t have the right ‘per lead costs’ and make decisions accordingly.

By considering these three factors when developing a web initiative budgetPsychology Articles, you should be on your way to having a successful website that helps you meet your business objectives without breaking the bank.

5 Most Common Mistakes In Link Building

When you think of getting your site to rank higher in the search engines’ result pages, you must be ready to start implementing certain search engines optimization techniques. One such search engine optimization method that has proven positive records is link building. Link building helps individual sites or blogs to get many others pointing back to them and thereby making them more popular in the ‘eyes’ of the search engines’ robots as well as numerous web suffers. This will be as a result of the fact that your site will be ranked higher in the result pages of the search engines when it has many relevant inbound links coupled with other considerations.

/>

You may also need to know that a recent research had confirmed that many web surfers no longer look beyond the first pages of the search engines’ result pages, so your SEO efforts must be geared towards making your site or blog be among the top 10 or at least in the first page.

There are various ways one can begin to effectively build links that will push up the ranking of his or her website in the page rankings but there are equally some common mistakes in link building that are avoidable but you may not be able to avoid them if you aren’t aware of them.

The first among the common mistakes in link building is creating links from pages that aren’t related in any way. This mistake is so common that sometime, you can find some SEO companies making the same mistake over and over again without blinking. While it is important to preach the immense need for link building, it has to be said in very firm word that getting one way inbound links from site that aren’t relevant will end up being futile. For example,. If you are selling school materials such as textbooks on the internet, it is vital that you get one way link backs from schools and other related school materials’ sellers rather than trying to get link backs from other sites that are selling ladies wears. You have to strive to get link for relevant sites so that the search engines’ algorithms would accord your site the needed higher page rank.

One other common mistake in link building is not using appropriate keyword in the anchor text. Use your keywords instead of writing ‘CLICK HERE’ in your link texts.

You shouldn’t also desist from creating links from pages that are difficult for search engines’ spiders to crawl. Some of these sites are those generated by Flash and JavaScript e.t.c.

Another common mistake in link building is trying to get one way back link from a webpage that already has hundreds of outbound links. This wouldn’t be of much benefit to your higher page ranking quest because Google and other search engine may be seeing such page as a link farm and might even completely ignore such backlinks.

You also have to avoid placing your links on dynamic pages such as those with * and & because the spiders usually find it harder to crawl such pages. You have to building links consistently so that your site will start ranking high in the result pages of the search engine but ensure that you consider these common mistakes in link building.

Why Is Full Blood Wagyu Cattle Most Sought After?

Have you ever tasted Wagyu steak? If not, then you should try; not just the steak but anything made from Wagyu beef. You would stop having any other beef since Wagyu just melts in your mouth unlike others. More than its taste what makes it popular is the fact that it is good for health compared to other beef breeds.

/>

Most people are familiar with Kobe beef as it is well known throughout the world for its quality. Kobe beef is actually Wagyu, which is a breed of cattle in Japan. ‘Wagyu’ is a Japanese word meaning Japanese beef (‘Wa’ means Japanese or Japanese style and ‘gyu’ means beef or cattle). Since Wagyu comes from the Kobe region in Japan, it became popular as Kobe beef.

People for all sorts of reasons prefer Wagyu or most precisely Full Blood Japanese Wagyu beef. Some likes the quality of the meat, for some it’s flavor, for some it’s softness while for some it’s the health aspect of it. All thanks to the heavy marbling in Wagyu beef.

The marbling is what that makes Fullblood Wagyu beef different from other beefs. Marbling is nothing but ‘intra-muscular deposit of energy in a lace-like lattice’, which is the result of the heavy content of monounsaturated fatty acids. Research has proved that it helps in reducing cholesterol levels in the body. Moreover, as it has a very low melting point (less than 7 degrees Celsius), it just melts in your mouth.

Breeding companies are into breeding Wagyu as it’s not only good for health but its quality is also of premium grade. This makes it very expensive. For instance, good quality feeder cattle (steers and heifers) are commanding in the range of Yen 350,000 – Yen 500,000+ at approx. 300kgs (Yen 400,000 = US$3,700 = A$5,000).

The future of Wagyu cattle is bright as the Wagyu breeders in Japan are using modern genetics evaluation techniques and showing strong upward genetic trends for marbling and carcase yield in their cattle.

Ensure that the beef that you’re being served is Fullblood Wagyu beef and not any Purebred or Crossbred Wagyu.

Earning Income from Home doing what You Love the Most

The bad news is that many people have the wrong idea when it comes to Earning Income From Home. People think of all the processes involved to get your business where it needs to be as hard work. They also think of all the learning and education required as strenuous and a chore. I’ve been marketing online since 1998 so that’s 11 years now. And I’ve met hundreds of people who make six figure incomes as well as dozens who pull down a million per year online or more.

These people are no different than you and me except for one thing. Earning Income From Home comes natural to them. But each of these people have two common characteristics. First they took the time to educate themselves and learned the proper skills to do this. Secondly they took massive action and implemented the necessary processes without complaining or worrying about when or if the money would finally show up in their bank accounts.

But not all of us need to make this much income to be happy. Most of us would be tickled to death with a few grand per month over and above what we already earn. In fact, a lot of us that work even love our primary jobs and careers and aren’t even looking to quit our jobs. We just want to learn more about Earning Income From Home so we can make that extra income stream to take the stress off of us. I know where you are coming from, been there and done that.

There are a few steps you can take right now that will make Earning Income From Home a whole lot easier. But there is work involved. In fact anyone that says you can make thousands of dollars from spill over or some pre-fabricated scheme is taking you down a dark road you just don’t wanna go down. You’ll end up wasting money but more importantly you’ll be wasting your time, and time is something you can never get back.

So the objective is to make Earning Income From Home fun and relatively easy. And the sooner you start the quicker you will get there. Think of it as riding your bicycle across the country. You have to get from Point A to Point B but there’s no time limit. You can take as many breaks as you want to along the way. The way I’m going about it is article writing and blogging. Here are some simple rules I follow.

1.) I chose a niche that I love writing about. You might be a flower specialist. If so there’s some great affiliate programs that sell flowers. Or you might love travel or you might be a former real estate broker or insurance agent. There are great affiliate programs in all of these fields to write about. Me personally I love writing about Internet Marketing and Network Marketing. And not just for the money because in the lowest depths of my soul I’m passionate about writing about these 2 subjects.

2.) Once you identify what you are passionate about you’ll want to setup a domain and blog around this subject. Make sure you install all the viral plugins and get a nice header graphic created for it. I use the Ultimate Blogging Theme by Carl Ocab. For Plugins I use All In One SEO, Top Commentators Widget, Akismet, CommentLuv, KeywordLuv, Google Analytics For WordPress, ILWP Simple Link Cloaker, Share This, Tweet This and the UBD Ad Block Plugin. These WordPress Plugins give me total control of my blog.

3.) I write 1-5 articles per day on Internet Marketing or MLM which are 500 words or more. Each article just targets one keyword no more. Of course your subject may be different, but this is what I love to write about. I post these articles on my blog with 1-2 photos representing what I want to write about which stay on my blog. Next I take this Blog post and turn it into an article.

I link to these blog posts in my anchor text with the sig file I make. Then I write a title and description for this article and submit it to all of the major article directories. Now some article directories won’t let you submit duplicate content and you need to respect their wishes. Take some extra time and write unique content for these article directories as it is well worth your time.

4.) Bookmark each of your Blog Posts with the major Social Bookmarking sites.

5.) Create a Screen Capture Video in Camtasia twice per month or so and randomly point the URL in the Video Description to a random blog post. Then submit this video to all of the major Video Sites. You can use Tube Mogul to do this for free although you’ll have to buy Camtasia for $300.00 which is a one time fee. If you do this google will think of your site as important since they are seeing different URL’s on your blog displayed on a bunch of other important video sites.

6.) This is the most important step but for some reason most people screw this step up royally. Get on a consistent content writing plan for your blog and stick with it. Install Google Analytics and start checking it after 50 or more blog posts. You’ll start seeing the traffic ramp up nicely by then. I find I get about 2 Unique Hits Per Day for each article or Blog Post I put up. My personal goal for my MLM Review Website is 3,000 Unique Visitors per day. So I know I’ll have to get about 1,500 articles out there before I can expect to achieve this goal.

7.) Believe in yourself. Don’t let others talk trash and bring you down. You owe it to yourself and your family to make your business a great success. You don’t need to look like a gigolo or be the JV King to do this. That’s the beauty of all of this. But you do need to stick with a consistent plan. You can have your articles ghost written and this investment would be worth every penny. But I recommend you write them yourself. You’ll take more pride in your accomplishments and you’ll learn more along the way.

Earning Income From Home isn’t rocket science, but it took me 11 years to figure out the secret. And I know from experience that 99.5% of the people out there won’t follow this plan. But if you do it could be a nice short 2-3 years until you receive our Internet Pension Check.

Online Marketing: The Most Popular Marketing Technique Today

If you were asked what you thought the most important department in any business is, you would probably answer, the marketing department. Have you wondered why almost all companies are allotting so much money to marketing their products and services compared to any other undertakings? This is because company owners realize the importance of marketing or advertising their business. It is the life of the business itself, next to profit of course. However, it is the initial step to get huge profits.

/>

A company that is good in marketing their products or services is likely to have the largest number of buyers of their products or patrons of their service. Logically speaking, this would mean that they are the most profitable. A company may choose from many marketing techniques but the most common and most popular today is the online marketing.

This approach uses the internet to promote company products or services and to reach buyers or patrons online. This approach has been used since the advent of the internet, however it was only in the late 20th century that it gained momentum and became popular. This is due to the fact that the internet has not been used in some places around the world until now when almost every household has its own personal computer that can access the internet. The internet is getting more popular everyday and more people are using the internet to search for what they want. They rely on the internet now to find out about a certain product or service.

Most companies today are using online advertising because of the remarkable increase in people using the internet. It is estimated to be billions in number and that is a large quantity of target buyers in one market. Traditional offline marketing is used less often although there are some old marketing approaches still in use such as print and TV ads because of their efficiency and ease of targeting a specific audience. Online marketing truly revolutionized the concept of marketing and it created a huge buzz in the advertising world upon its introduction.

Marketing using the internet also comes in different forms. The most common online marketing that you can see today is web linking, the use of search engine optimization or SEO marketing, web text or video blogging, web linking and online social network marketing. There might be other types of online marketing out there but they are not as effective as those that are mentioned. It is obvious that online advertising is still growing and many companies are now ready to adapt to the changes to get their products or services closer to the public consumers.

Asp.net Hosting – Deciding On The Most Suitable Asp.net Hosting Provider

Writing ASP.NET web applications is a fun and personally rewarding experience for programmers, however, the next step is often annoying and confusing. In fact, deploying ASP.NET apps is not easy, and few hosting companies manage to do so.

/>

When looking for a good ASP.NET hosting provider, you ought to at all times try to get hold of a provider that supplies the newest version of Windows Server, IIS and ASP.NET. They should also support SQL Server, because this is the most common database choice for .NET programmers. If you use Microsoft access, then search for Its presence. Understand then again, that Microsoft access won’t resist much load (as it’s a db based on a file).

Other stuff to deliberate are whether or not you’re able to get sufficient CPU and RAM resources, if you have full trusted app support, and whether or not monitoring, security, and backups are all managed by the hosting provider for you. In general, it would be foolish to try to deal with the hardware by hand. Whether you opt for shared, VPS (Virtual Private Server) or dedicated ASP.NET hosting, you should still try to go for a fully managed solution.

The pairing of ASP.NET and SQL Server can be demanding if your application receives enough pageviews, and as such it’s wise to comprehend that shared web hosting is best viewed as a last resort (and then only if it’s not within your finances to pay for a VPS or dedicated ASP.NET service provider).

If you’d like to spend very little, try VPS hosting solutions, as they tend to provide a good compromise between the type of resources that are made available to each customer and cost. A good managed VPS can cost you as little as $40 per month, which isn’t all that much if you use your site for business or other serious purposes.

When deciding on a company, it’s a great idea to look at critical reviews about them and go with solutions that appear to focus on ASP.NET, rather than only carelessly mentioning it once on some random page. Reputable ASP.NET hosting businesses exist, and you ought to favor these over hosting solutions that are merely out to grab your money.

But how to discerning between the two? The answer is straightforward: read trustworthy reviews and suggestions, on the whole from fellow software engineers. After a little while you’ll see that it really isn’t tricky weed out the chaff from the wheat.

Tweet My Blog – Why Is It The Most Popular WordPress Plugin Today?

In such a quick period of time, Twitter has emerged as highly popular digital service that is full of wonderful potentials. Presidential candidates use Twitter to coordinate their nationwide campaigns, for example. Rival sports superstars use it to publicize each other’s dirt. Emergency response units accept tweets as legitimate calls for help. Airplane crashes are first reported through this micro-blogging platform. And Perez Hilton uses Twitter every time a celebrity actually decides to punch him on the face.

/>

Twitter has become an ubiquitous web service that has transcended the internet. Everyone seems to be using Twitter, and your online business can capitalize on this fact.

Basically, if you’re into internet marketing and you’re not using Twitter, then you’re missing out on some major benefits that can increase the profitability of your business.

But for Twitter to work for your enterprise, you will need 2 things: 1) thousands upon thousands of followers; and 2) a commitment to tweet regularly.

The first can be solved via automated Twitter software programs, and there are a lot of them these days.

The second can be remedied by digging deep inside you to actually dedicate yourself to posting several 140-character messages per day…… or by using your WordPress blog.

By using a WordPress plugin wittily named Tweet My Blog, WordPress will automatically post a tweet whenever you post a new blog entry. This tweet is user-defined. You can invite your followers to check out your blog. You can try the mysterious approach of promising a surprise for them if they’d click on the link to your newest blog entry. Or you can simply give them a heads up, like a buddy would, and wait for them to visit your blogs, again, like a buddy would.

Tweet My Blog is a wonderful piece of WordPress plugin that many bloggers-cum-tweeters have hailed as the best add-on that has been introduced to the community since Twitter was invented. If you’re a WordPress blogger and you own a Twitter account, then it will be a grave sin if you won’t use Tweet My Blog. If you’re an online marketer, then it would be a graver sin if you don’t have a WordPress blog and/or you don’t own a Twitter account.

Installing the Tweet My Blog WordPress plugin is very, very easy. Just like other plugins, simply unzip the contents thereof to your wp-content/plugins folder. Thereafter, go to your admin interface and to your plugins menu and install the Tweet My Blog. And you’re all set to go.

Initial configuration is just as easy. The WordPress plugin will ask for your Twitter details, i.e. username and password, so that it can automate the process.

Tweet My Blog WordPress plugin is a great way to maximize your efforts and save you a lot of time you’d otherwise spend on blogging and tweeting. Tweet My Blog is an excellent way to harness your followers and transform them into cascading traffic to your blog each and every time you post a new entry.

Tips For New Blogger – How To Make The Most Of Your Blogging Experience

The desire to make additional money by working on the Internet is a very strong one indeed. This is especially the case now that many of us are facing economic hardships that we may not have faced before. In order for you to make money on the Internet, however, you are going to need to get your words out there for people to see. The easiest way for you to do this is by setting up a blog. If you’re new to this type of activity, here are some tips for new blogger users which will help you to get started effectively and quickly.

/>

First of all, you need to decide whether you’re going to go with a free blog system or if you’re going to spend a little bit of money on a domain name and hosting. I would highly recommend that you go the extra mile with your own domain name as this will give you a more professional appearance. Not only that, having your own blog which is hosted by you will give you the flexibility to change things that you are unable to change on a free account. This is one of the biggest tips for new blogger users, but it is one that many individuals overlook. For a small initial investment of around $15-$20, you will have a business blog set up and ready to go.

Just because you have a blog on the Internet, however, does not necessarily mean that you are going to make money automatically. There are several things that need to be done in order for this to happen. First of all, you need to make sure that you are blogging about one single subject per website. Don’t have a general blog as this does not promote repeat readership. You should also make sure that you are blogging about particular keywords that people are searching for. This will help you to be able to work your way up to the search engines where people will actually see you.

These are some of the top tips for new blogger users. Regardless of whether you have your own website or if you decide to go with a free option, these can be applied. You should also make sure that you are persistent when you are writing to your blog as this will help you to see the most success as well.
