How To Improve Your ClickBank Affiliate’s Link

How To Improve Your ClickBank Affiliate’s Link

How does the normal linking system work, The referral landing page drawbacks, Use one script and solve three problems, How to create this unique affiliate link, How to customize the link, How to test the unique link

HOW DOES THE NORMAL LINKING SYSTEM WORK

The Clickbank is a service that offers merchants the opportunity to offer their products for sale with a Clickbank Affiliate Link, and the Clickbank also has affiliates who earn referral commissions when they sell one of his products.

Each Clickbank merchant has an unique Clickbank Affiliate Link that contains it´s nickname. The nickname
The Clickbank uses the nicknames to track who makes each sale, and who is owed what.
The Clickbank is also one of the best means to build an affiliate program with a minimmum expense.

If you have products to sell and want to accept credit card´s payments, or whould like to have your own affiliates program, or would like to offer at your web site some of the thousands of good products that the Clickbank offers and earn a commission each time you make a sale, you can join up the Clickbank here: http://newsletter.easy-home-business.com/hts/clickbank.html

HOW DO THE CLICKBANK AFFILIATE LINKS WORK

If you join our affiliate program (and you can do it for free clicking here: http://www.easy-home-business.com/aff/affprogram.html), your own clickbank affiliate link will be: http://hop.clickbank.net/?XXXXX/robertoab Each time that someone clicks over the above link, is taken to the Clickbank where a cookie with the merchant (The ClickBank) and the affiliate (Easy Home Businessd) nicknames are set, then the Clickbank will immediately redirect you to our landing page. It´s all so fast that the browser will send the visitor to our landing page within seconds (if network traffic is not congested or the ClickBank servers aren´t slow).

THE REFERRAL LANDING PAGE

When you affiliate to the Clickbank you must specify the page where all referrals will land, and it´s only one for each affiliate, and this has three drawbacks:

For the Clickbank affiliates: Other Clickbank affiliates, if they are ready to buy, can substitute your nickname for theirs (they only need to copy and paste the link into the browser´s address bar, substituting your nickname for theirs). And once they do that, the purchase´s commission will be for them and not for you.
For the Clickbank affiliates and you as a Clickbank merchant: If you as a merchant have more than one sales page (one for each one of your products), you must direct all the customers to the one and only landing page that the Clickbank gives you, and there they will be required to click to another link or two before finding one of your product´s sales page. This need of scrolling through a list of products until they find the right link, may be too much for someone with a weak interest in your product.
For you as a Clickbank´s merchant: if you have an affiliate´s network, the link they will use to sell your products, will do nothing to boost your site´s ranking in the search engines

ONE SCRIPT CAN SOLVE THE THREE PROBLEMS

Using a special JavaScript can solve those three problems AFFILIATES If you join our free affiliates program, the following link will send your customers to our “How to Sell on the Web” sales web page: http://easy-home-business.com/howtosell/?YOURNICKNAME or http://easy-home-business.com/howtosell/#YOURNICKNAME You only need to replace YOURNICKNAME with your own Clickbank nickname, and even if some other affiliate changes YOURNICKNAME by his, YOU will receive the commission (Read HOW THE CLICKBANK AFFILIATE LINK WORKS to know why)

MERCHANTS

The JavaScript that we use is free to use, Clickbank affiliates do not need to also register with you, and it´s more attractive for Clickbank affiliates to send referrals your way because they will not be risking their commission.

HOW OUR NEW CLICKBANK AFFILIATE LINK WORKS

The product page´s JavaScript takes a look at the URL used to arrive at the page, and if it contains a ? or # character, everything following that character (YOURNICKNAME) is assumed to be a Clickbank affiliate nickname, so it stores a cookie in the referral´s browser.
That cookie will say which product page was the original destination.
After the cookie is stored, the JavaScript will construct a normal Clickbank´s affiliate link and redirect the browser to it.
Once the browser arrives at the Clickbank, the Clickbank will store the affiliate and merchant´s nicknames with a cookie and redirect the browser to the merchant´s referral landing page.
At the landing page, the JavaScript will look for the cookie with the original destination, and if found, the browser will be redirected to the product page it originally came from. This is all so fast that will happen within a second, or thereabouts (unless network traffic is congested, or Clickbank or your server are slow) So the referral will be sent to the exact product page he is looking for, and the Clickbank affiliate link will be stored on a cookie, that will tell the Clickbank who has to be paid a commission.

HOW TO CREATE THE SPECIAL CLICKBANK AFFILIATE’S LINK JAVASCRIPT

You will need two sets of JavaScript code:

One set for yor referral landing page. This is the page that you specify in your Clickbank´s account control panel (the Clickbank calls it the “Homepage URL”)
Another set for each one of your product´s sales pages. The JavaScript is free and you can copy it from: http://willmaster.com/a/19/pl.pl?demo192

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE THE CLICKBANK AFFILIATE LINK´S JAVASCRIPT

The referral landing page´s JavaScript only needs one customization: You need to specify a cookie name (It can be any sequence of alphanumeric characters, but must be different from other cookie names that you use on your site) Once you customize the JavaScript you only need to paste the code into the HEAD area of your landing page´s source code The product page´s JavaScript requires to be customized on two places, you need to specify the cookie name that you choose on the previous step, and your Clickbank´s account nickname. Once you customize the JavaScript you only need to paste the code into the HEAD area of your landing page´s source code

HOW TO TEST THE CLICKBANK AFFILIATE LINK´S JAVASCRIPT

Set your browser to ask permission before accepting cookies
Type an affiliate URL into your browser like http://easy-home-business.com/howtosell/#YOURNICKNAME
Replace YOURNICKNAME with your own Clickbank nickname
When the browser arrives at the affiliate URL, it will ask you permission to set a cookie. Answer YES, and your browser witll redirect you the Clickbank where another cookie will ask for permission to be set (this will be the Clickbank´s tracking cookie)
After you answer YES for the second cookie your browser will redirect you to your referral landing page, and then it will immediately return to the original product page´s destination (then the ? or # character and the affiliate code will no longe be in the address bar) TESTING WITHOUT PERMISSION ASKED
Set your browser not to ask permission before accepting cookies
Type an affiliate URL into your browser And you will notice how fast the whole process really is. NOTE: This JavaScript was created by Will Bontrager, I use it at my web site and it works as well as I tell you on this article. Things You Can Do to Improve Your Landing Page Conversions

Things You Can Do to Improve Your Landing Page Conversions

Learn about some secret tips on how to Increase the number of sales or subscribers from your current traffic to your site.

Have you ever wondered why you are not getting the desired number of subscriptions or sales from your website? If so, put yourself in your visitor’s shoe, look at your website from his perspective, then ask yourself, “Will I buy this product?” If you, yourself, are unsure of your answer, it just means that your landing page needs serious modifications.

Importance of Landing Pages

Landing page is the first page which the visitor sees after clicking on any kind of advertisement like ppc, banners etc or a link in search results. Landing pages have different functions, depending on what you want to achieve from your website. Mostly landing pages are used to sell a company’s products or to make visitors subscribe to a newsletter.

When you get a sale or an email address subscribing to your newsletter, you just got yourself a conversion. On the internet, websites only get an average of 1 to 2 conversions per 100 visitors. It is really quite a challenge to convert thousands of visitors to be your customers especially with the tight competition over the virtual world. This is where the effectiveness of your landing page comes in. Since this is the page that visitors will first see after clicking your ad, your landing page should be compelling enough to convert them and make them accept your offer.

So How Will You Do It?

1.    Be Direct
When salesmen make their pitch, many of them tend to beat around the bush before offering their products or services. On your landing page, this should NOT be the case. The keyword to remember is KISS – Keep It Short and Simple.

As much as possible, do not bombard your landing page with lots of information that veers your visitors away from what you are really offering. Also, people browsing the Internet looking for something do not usually have the luxury of time to spend reading on long descriptions or explanations. Be specific. Try to relay your offer without your visitors having to scroll down through the end of the page. Conversion rates tend to be higher if visitors find what they are looking for as quickly as possible

2.    Relevant to the Ad

When people click an ad, it means that the keywords used caught their attention and it is something that interests them. Hence, they expect to see on the landing page the same offer that is being described in the advertisement. If they don’t, it is almost guaranteed that they will click on the Back button and look for something else instead.

Thus, if your ad offers a discount on one of your products, your landing page should display the same product and not other items that you offer. In the first place, you got visitors on your landing page because of that product discount being advertised. The last thing you would want your visitors to feel is that they are being fooled by your ads.

3.    Functional Design
Your landing page should be enticing to the eyes of your visitors. Right from the onset, they should already see the value of your offer so it will be highly likely for them to take action and grab your offer. Optimize your landing page so that your message is effectively relayed without needing too much words, pictures or illustrations. Make the page readable and easy to the eyes. Avoid excessive images that do not add value to your offer. Minimize the use of the navigation bar, or try to totally avoid it if possible, and make sure that your conversion exits are visible and clearly identified.

4.    Improve Your Forms
When you already get your visitors convinced to take your offer, the confirmation stage is when they already fill out the form and click on your action button. The last thing you want to happen is for them to get frustrated because of too much information being asked from them. So why don’t you make this task easy for them?

Think of the pieces of information that you only need from them. If you are not shipping an item, there’s no point in getting their complete address at this time. If you are offering a newsletter subscription, their email address is the only information you need.

It will also be helpful if you optimize your form. Allow tabbing to different fields and automatic cursor hopping to the next field. If possible, pre-populate fields that you already know about. One basic example of this is the Country field being auto-populated with the information from the visitor’s IP address.

Instead of a Submit button, be more specific in the action that you are requesting them to do such as “Register for the eNewsletter” or “Avail of the 80% Discount.” Also, avoid placing a Reset button which just tempts your visitors to think twice in availing the offer.

These are just a few tips to help you improve your landing page conversions. And after you have done these things, make sure to do a test run and ensure everything is working fine, especially your forms. Take a look again at your landing page from a visitor’s point of view and ask yourself, “Will I avail of this offer?” If your answer is already a resounding yesArticle Search, then expect positive results in no time.

How To Consistently Improve Your Web Site Results

How To Consistently Improve Your Web Site Results

Split testing is also known as A/B testing. It is the process of taking one page (your control or page A) and then creating another page (page B) with one single change and then driving equal traffic to both pages to see which page gets a better result.

Testing is vital to the success of your website; it is a powerful strategy for increasing the effectiveness of your site pages.

Split testing is also known as A/B testing. It is the process of taking one page (your control or page A) and then creating another page (page B) with one single change and then driving equal traffic to both pages to see which page gets a better result.

I love split testing because it takes the guess work out of your marketing. I really love it when testing proves me wrong – it’s a great way to learn and it improves my results. If I were to just go with what I had thought would win, I would be constantly getting lower results than I can now get with my new page which has proven to pull better results.

Recently this happened, I created a sales page (page A) with a great headline, and then I created my page B with a different headline in place. I had fully expected my page A to win. But it didn’t!

The truth is we just don’t know how the market is going to respond and even with proven marketing concepts in place and great copy, we just can’t predict the response. With testing, we don’t need to predict. We can accurately and scientifically determine what is going to work and improve our results.

Think about it, you are running various campaigns and driving traffic to various pages anyway. Why not get the most out of those pages and increase your response without increasing your expenses?

Here is a quick and simple breakdown of how to split test:

Step One: Identify a page with an offer on your website that you would like to test.

Step Two: Create another variation of that same offer (in order for an A/B test to be accurate you can only change one thing on the page)

Step Three: Place your split testing software code on your site, and drive traffic to the pages.

Step Four: Review the results and determine which page was the winner. That page is your new control page, and you can now create a new page B to test something else. The idea is you keep testing and keep improving the results.

You can test anything, but here are some of the most common things to test:

- Pricing (example: $9.95 versus $12.95)

- Headline color (example red versus blue)

- Headline text

- Header graphic versus no header graphic

There are so many testing softwares out there, but I’m really surprised there hasn’t been more discussion about Google Website Optimizer. It’s such a great tool – and it’s free!

For those of you that don’t know, Google Website Optimizer allows you to split test (and even multivariate test your pages). Typically if you want to split test you have to buy expensive software that requires installation and configuration. With Google WebSite Optimizer it is so simple. You simply set up the 2 pages, paste the URLs into Google and then add some code to the pages that Google provides. You can be up and running and split testing in no time.

If you aren’t currently split testingFind Article, I guarantee you aren’t getting the maximum benefit out of your website and you need to start!

How To Improve Your Directory Submission Acceptance Rate?

Unlike Search Engines, the process of review of directory submission is carried out manually, by “Experts”. They also have stringent rules and guidelines for listing your site. You may ask why; but these rules are there to ensure good directory submission and effective review procedures. It helps the editor to evaluate a site & decide whether to accept or reject it. All these combined results in a great deal of scrutiny being carried out before your site gets listed on directories.

/>

But you can easily make your submissions an instant success with most of the directories. All you need to do is pay a little attention to the details you provide for Directory Submission. Your little efforts will be richly rewarded. Here are few Golden rules you should always follow before beginning Directory Submission.

Before You Begin Directory Submission

Before you begin directory submission, make you have taken note of the following:

• Do not submit a mirror page; most directories don’t accept mirror pages.
• Do not submit any “Under construction” pages.
• Always submit the top-level domain of your site. For example: Do not add index.html or any sub domains.
• Check all your links. Broken links are a sign poor site management which may not go down well with the directories.

Chose the most appropriate Category for your site

Web directories are sorted by topic and editors frequently take great pride in ensuring that everything stays well categorized. So, put up your website in the right category. The search engines look at the various links that are on the page on which you are listed. This can lead to better rankings.

Tip: To find appropriate categories for a site, you can go to Dmoz and type in the product/service keyword. You can also search for your rival site and check out the category under which they are submitted.

Pay attention to the description and use of key words

The most common restriction forced by directories is on the size of your description & keywords. The trick is to come up with such a description for your site that can conveniently fit into 100, 150, 200, and 250 characters length. Do all this before you get down to the real job of directory submission. The reason for keeping four lengths of description is that you never know which one will be accepted in which directory. Remember that you may not be able to pen down everything about your site, so write what is unique and relevant. Avoid using a sales pitch and/or promotional language. Try and be informative & friendly.

Here are few more points you should always bear in mind while writing a description for directory submission:

• Do not repeat your title or site URL in the description.
• Do not use all caps; use mixed case.
• Use complete sentences.
• Do not say the word site or website, as in “this site offers”
• Do not use any hype like “the best” or “excellent.”
• Fit your main keyword phrases in but do not repeat them.

Once you have taken care of all these, you have over come the most difficult part of directory submission. The same should be followed for keywords. When it comes to directory submission, all you need to do is to pick up the most appropriate one and hit enter.

Tip: This is what I call an ideal description for my site Submit2Please, “We submit Web Sites, Articles, Blogs, Press Releases, Scripts and RSS Feeds to Search Engine Friendly Directories. The directory submission is carried out manually by trained in-house directory submission experts.”

Site Title

Pay attention to your site title. You should ideally not use any URL & key words in it, until & unless they are absolutely necessary to describe your site. Remember, be precise & straight forward!

Tip: You should identify at least 3-4 titles for your site & rotate them during Directory Submission. In this way you can get the maximum optimization benefit for your site through Directory Submission.

All the above mentioned “Golden Rules” stand good for most directories on the internet including Dmoz. Thus, by exercise necessary caution before directory submission, you can save a lot of precious time and energy. With the right advice and steps, directory submission may be the most significant thing you will ever do for your website.

How To Improve Your Google Listing And Achieve A Higher Search Engine Ranking

There are many ways in which you can improve your Google listing, and some work better than others depending on the type of website you have or on your niche. Here are ways in which you can get a higher Google ranking, or even a better search engine ranking in general.

/>

We shall forget about onpage SEO such as use of meta tags and use of keywords since that has been done to death by now. There are other things that you can do to improve your search engine ranking, and among them are:

1. Put a site map on your website. You can generate an XML site map using any of several tools listed on Google, and a simple, search should enable you to find one. Once you have followed the instructions, you should submit the site map to Google and to Yahoo, and each will then be able to crawl your website without hindrance. It will also be updated each time the search engines crawl your site because XML sitemaps update as you add new pages to your site. Your site map should uploaded to the root directory of your website.

2. Start up a blog using one of the two main free blogging hosts, Blogger or WordPress. In fact, why not use both and get the benefit of each? Blogger is owned by Google, so a Blogger blog is of particular benefit for Google listings. Put the URL of the pages of your website that you want promote on your blog, and these pages will be visited next time your blog is crawled.

3. Open an account with Technorati, and some of the other social bookmarking sites, and submit your blog to them. Ping them each time you make a new posting, and you will get good exposure to search engines whenever they visit these sites (which is very often).

4. Use social networking sites such as YouTube, MySpace and Facebook to advertise your blog, or even your website. In fact put both your blog and your website on these sites, and you will get one-way back-links to your site, thus improving your Google PageRank and search engine results positions.

5. Make sure that all of your links are open. Nothing ruins your Google listing than broken links, and you must test all of your links to make sure that they are all working. You aren’t expected to do that manually, and there is software available online to test your links for you.

6. Avoid reciprocal links like the plague, unless you have arranged them privately and both of you are happy with their positioning. Links farms, and large list pages on which you are at #259 on the SEO page, are not only useless with respect to any PageRank votes, but can actually do you harm. So steer clear of them. There are enough ways of securing one-way links without having to negotiate reciprocal links. These days are long gone.

7. Register with Google Webmaster Tools, and check out their analysis of your website. The software can detect broken links, but more importantly, can carry out other tasks such as making sure that only one form of your URL is recognized, and checking out your Meta tags. Although these are not used as much as previously, they are used or Google wouldn’t be checking them for you!

8. Register for a free Squidoo lens, and use your URL on that. Not simply just as a URL, but as a means of solving a problem. A Squidoo lens is like a mini-website, and you can use it to present a problem, and then your website as a solution. Not only does that get you one-way back-links to your choice of website page, but also the potential of loads of traffic: people that want their problem solved.

So there are eight methods of promoting your website and improving your search engine ranking. There e other ways to improve your Google listing, but these are very effective off site methods of doing so, other than 1 and 5 that are essential on-site techniques – even more important than meta tags and the correct html tags.

Apply each one of these and you should be rewarded with an improved Google listing, and your search engine ranking in general should be enhanced.

These are only eight methods of improving your Google listings, but SEOcious will provide you with many more methods of attaining a very high search engine ranking for your website.

10 Advanced Techniques To Improve Your Blog

Once you’ve established a blog, you can use it for many purposes, including improvement of the search engine ranking of your company’s web site. To do so, here are 10 useful techniques you should consider to set your blog apart from the standard cookie-cutter variety.

/>

1) Move your blog from an external host to an internal component of your web site.

WordPress.org offers the best software to do so with a step-by-step instruction sheet that boasts of a “five-minute” installation process.

The best configuration for an on-site blog is http://mydomain.com/myblog .

Blogs on external hosts boost the vendor’s web site instead of your own. Using an internal blog will help your entire site benefit from both inbound links to the blog and from an increased volume of web pages.

2) Use the “sociable” plug-in to create icons linking to social media sites at the end of each blog post.

Plug-ins are created by outside experts to increase the functionality of your blog. WordPress.org is famous for having more plug-ins than any other program, and you can access them directly from the software. Each plug-in contains its own installation and activation instructions but adding them is relatively easy.

The sociable plug-in provides a slew of social media sites, and the user can just click on the ones he wishes to appear at the end of each post. This improves the marketing of your blog as visitors can easily spread interesting entries to entirely new audiences.

3) Use the “All in one SEO” plug-in to improve the search engine ranking of your posts.

Blog writers experience a dilemma. To maximize readership, they need cute, interesting blog headlines, but these headlines are not always the best for SEO purposes. The All-in-One-SEO plug-in lets you create more topical blog titles and descriptions of the content.

4) Activate the Askimet plug-in that comes with WordPress.org software.

This plug-in provides a filter to prevent spam comments to your blog.

5) Reduce duplicate content created by blog programs.

A category archive is sufficient for visitors to look up blog content. Any chronological archives should be deleted.

6) Use a Google Sitemap Generator.

Sitemaps in general help Google spiders to navigate your web pages. But it is next to impossible to keep your sitemaps updated with the constant addition of material to blogs, especially because each entry appears to the spider as an entirely new web page.

The Google Sitemap Generator is a plug-in that keeps your XML sitemap up to date after each blog post.

7) Always update your blog with the latest version of WordPress.org software and the latest version of any plug-ins you may be using.

WordPress.org will automatically notify you when new versions are available.

8) Always back up both your WordPress files and your WordPress data base as frequently as possible, and especially before upgrading the software.

WordPress files are simply saved by using an FTP program to move them from your hosting program to the hard drive of your computer. Saving the WordPress database (MySQL) is a little more complicated, but it can be facilitated by activating another plug-in called WP – php My Admin. Go to the plug-in home page for step-by-step instructions.

9) Change the permalink structure on your dashboard.

Permalinks stand for “permanent links,” and they refer to the URL generated for each new blog entry. Go to the permalinks option on your dashboard, click on “custom structure,” and add the code /%postname%/. This will eliminate useless information in the URL such as the date and the name of your blog.

10) Improve your blog URLs by adding a post-slug plug-in to your blog.

The post-slug plug-in will improve the permalink even more by deleting short words in your entry headlines. For example instead of “the-cure-for-cancer.com,” a post slug will change the URL to “cure-cancer.com,” much better for SEO purposes.
