Adding these buttons to your website is relatively easy and all the information and code is provided through your Paypal account. However, what they don’t tell you is how to create a button that allows the buyer to fill in an amount. After quickly searching the web for a solution and not finding anything, I thought I would try a simple approach – trial and error.
I started with a $1 value hoping to be able to change the quantity, no luck.
Then I thought maybe… a $0 value or just leave the price blank and see if it would save the button, it did! I added the code to the page and guess what, when you click on the paypal button, it opens up with a blank fill in price and update option before proceeding.
